What A1 & A3 competencies mean
Category A1 — Fly over people (with limitations)
Permits operating lightweight drones (C0/C1 class, under 900 g) in populated and urban areas and near uninvolved people — never over assemblies or crowds. Ideal for commercial real estate filming, architecture and city b-roll.
Category A3 — Fly far from people
Authorizes operating heavier drones (up to 25 kg, C3/C4 class) in safe, open environments, keeping a minimum horizontal distance of 150 m from residential, commercial, industrial and recreational zones.
